Homeless Ministries

We serve over 12,000 meals a year through our justice & compassion ministries.  Many to the homeless and underfed.  The food, as much as it's needed is only the occaision for the greater gift of community and relationship shared by those who serve and those who receive.  In reality, we all do a little of each.

Mobile Homeless Ministry in Ann Arbor

Contact: Colette Mendel Szabo or Eric Thaxton

The Mobile Homeless Ministry's goal is to provide friendship and care for individuals living on the streets of Ann Arbor. Each Friday we head out to various locations in Ann Arbor with prepacked meal bags as well as a hot meal. We spend time getting to know our homeless friends, providing other assistance as we are able, including prayer for those who ask. 80-120 are served each week.We also host festive meals at the church over the holidays for our homeless guests.

Tuesday Evening "Matthew's Party"

Twice monthy we provide, prepare and serve a meal in downtown Ann Arbor at First Baptist Church to 80-100 homeless guests. It's a lovely evening enjoyed by all, and some of our guests linger for prayer and worship (entirely at their discretion, of course.)

Sunday Meal in Ypsilanti

Contact: Joy Lange

Every third Sunday of the month, Vineyard goes to the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen in Ypsilanti at 4:45pm to prepare and serve an evening meal to people in need. Our goal is to provide the guests with high quality food and service, showing God's love in a practical way. We also provide servers for meals on the third Thursday and first Sunday of each month. About 120 are served each month.
